Our aim is to make lacquerware more accessible—vessels that can be used anywhere and created by anyone.
We built this site to share the story and concept behind that vision.

Traveling Paper Lacquerware

Paper lacquerware is a vessel of lacquer—thin and light.

It has journeyed across Japan and even to Lebanon,
and today, it prepares once again for its next adventure.

Soft as paper and light to carry, these stackable vessels can be taken anywhere.
Each one is carefully hand-lacquered, and even if it chips,
it is repaired with lacquer again— continuing its journey from the hands of artisans to the everyday lives of people.

With each layer of lacquer, it remembers its travels.
